Bedford County, VA Goffs
Arial photo of Goff mountain- Many of the Bedford County Goffs lived on this land. The following was extracted from "Bedford Villages Lost and Found" vol.2. "The Goff family who migrated from Amherst County to Goff mountain at the head of Hunting Creek' owned large acreage beyond what is known today as Hunting Creek Baptist Church. The Goffs Post Office was located 4 miles west of the James River and 1/4 mile east of Hunting Creek. In more recent years the area has been known as Dr. Rivers or Powell's Store".
