Is this Thomas the son of Ignatius who married Mary Ann Brown? I have him born in 1823 but I do have her born 1843? In the 1870 Daviess Co, KY cenus, he is living with his mother Sarah Gough age 72 and listed as age 31. Is is possible that Ignatius Gough died after 1825 as you show?

    Hi Mike,

Below is a rough draft or preliminary of what I have built on the Gough Family of "DAVIESS COUNTY INDIANA" I often abbreviate with DCI. I got this far and got switched to another branch of the family.

Yes, Ignatius's family came here, and with who or why, I am not clued into yet. Possibly because the land opened up so reasonable, and so many of the MD to KY group moved together. It is guessed about 1/3 of the original group moved on to Indiana. My searching on the Gough's started with Scholastica, married to William Brown, mother of Sarah Brown, married to James W. Grannan. I haven't completed the database, and Sandy Olin is helping me with the Gough/Brown/McGuire names, and soon as we get a few more Grannans out of the way. Sandy is a Grannan descendant too.

I took time to see what your postings, and the others well. All of you covered a lot of ground on the Goughs since I posted. That is so great. I have found Sarah's grave, but not Ignatius's. The stone must be gone. Her's is flat, under a tree. And Scholastica's is just down the road from them, with her son and his wife.

Let me know if there are any questions.

I am very familiar with Evansville, lived there for 4 years, grew up in Perry County, 50 miles away. I now live in Texas but visit every year.
