    Notes:

I found an error on Merle McNeese's Pedigree Chart. Someone had Listed her mother Jewel Daniel as a male and her father Glen M. Elkins as a female, therefore their three children were shown as Daniel rather than Elkins as they should have been.

Corrected lineage should be Merle Elkins McNeese,Jewel Daniel Elkins, Mary Penelope Gough Daniel, George Churchill Gough, etc.

St. Francis church is across from the cemetery, someone was there when we drove up but they left before we could get over there. I'm sure there is a record somewhere. I found a small Catholic cemetery in Spencer Co. KY that had one large stone with names of all the people who were burried there--no dates only names.

    Notes:

    Mike

This has to be James Gough Jr. or IV of Woodford Co., son of James III.

Rechecked the tax records for Scott Co.,1795 thru 1817. Some of the early records were partly unreadable due to water damage.

    Here's what I found:

    Ignatius gough--1798,1800,1802,1809,1811,1812,1814,1815,1816 & 1817.
    James Gough-- 1798,1800,1801,1804,1805,1808,1809,1810, 1811,1812,1814,1815,1816 & 1817.
    John B. Gough-- 1798,1800,1801,1802,1803,1804 (listed as B.John),1807 B.John, 1808 B.John
    1810,1811,1812,1814,1815,1816 & 1817.
    Cornelius Gough-- 1803,1804,1807,1809,1812,1814,1815,&1817.
    John Goff-- 1798 & 1809
In 1815 James was listed three times, he was always listed with several head of cattle, horses and slaves.

Jeremiah Tarleton was also quite wealthy.

At no time was John referred to as John Baptist, I agree with you that he may not have been names John Baptist.

!From the Hisory Of Woodford County by Railey. HE states William Davis and many members of the two families (Gough and Davis) were buried in a private graveyard, which was in view of both premises. James died at 48 years of age. A member of the Gough family signed as a witness on John Frazer's will. The children in this family are not in order. I will have to search farther on that. They were burried near Midway, Wooford, KY.

"Mrs. Rebecca Gough, relict of James Gough of Woodford Co. died March 14, 1837, aged 48 Years. This would make her birth in 1789.
