Notes - Crossing the Dark River: Henderson County, Tennessee, Obituaries 1827-1950 by Brenda Kirk Fiddler, copyright 1999, published by Charles and Brenda Fiddler, 331 Eastern Shores Dr., Lexington, Tennessee 38351 p. 353 SMITH, Josie STANFILL (The Lexington Progress, May 25, 1934) In loving memory of Mrs. Josie STANFILL SMITH, who was born March 30th, 1892, and died May 15, 1934, aged 49 years. She was the daughter of Albert STANFILL, and was married to A. T. SMITH, November 15, 1911. To the union were born five children, Mrs. R. L. (Ollie Mae) HART, A. T. SMITH, Jr., Miss Josie Mae, now living, with two children having died several years ago. Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Mrs. Sam SISK, Mrs. Carl WADLEY and Mrs. Bill HAVENER. W, A. WOODY conducted the funeral services at Bethel Church with interment at the nearby cemetery.
