Lets start here....
John Jarboe, Jr. willed his landed estate went to his sons. He bequeathed St. Lawrence to his son John, to Peter, Marshes Hope [Paul's Marsh] and Jarboe's. Elizabeth received all his personal estate. In the event of the death of either sons, the land was to descent to the next child. Lastly he ask to be buried next to his son Mark.
There is no probate material for Jarboe's between 1743-1781 in St. Mary's county, Md. Therefore, much of what we know about this family must be gleaned from the Rent Rolls and debt Books kept for the Lord Proprietor
Marshes Hope and Jarboe's is next found in the Gough Family. James Gough died in 1725 named his wife, Elizabeth his executrix. and left Marsh Hope and Jarboe's to their son. This gives rise to speculation that Elizabeth Gough was a Jarboe by birth.
