Notes for MARY TERESE NEWTON:
Mary Terese was my aunt and also my godmother. Perhaps for these reasons she
always seemed to treat me special. Whenever she saw me she always gave me the
brightest smile. I remember few smile that seemed so sincere. (I type this with tears in
my eyes.) Seeing aunt Terese always brought a smile to my face. ALWAYS!
News Paper Wedding announcement:
The marriage of Miss Theresa Newton to Mr. Harold Frazier was solemnized at 7 a.
m. Monday, October 21 at the Church of the Sacred Heart.
The attendants were: Miss Gladys Whalen, maid of honor, and Mr. William Newton,
best man.
The bride wore an ivory satin gown, made on princess lines, with lace puffed
sleeves, and neck-line was surrounded with rosettes. She wore a long tulle veil, which
was adjusted with a crown of rhinestones The bridal bouquet consisted of roses and
bouvardia.
The maid of honor wore a peach taffeta gown trimmed in blue, with accessories of
silver and blue. She carried a bouquet of Roosevelt roses and snap dragons.
Following the wedding, breakfast was served for only the immediate families. A
reception in honor of the bride and groom was given in the evening.
