Funeral services for C. M. Goff, Jr., 84, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Gail Gaddie officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Goff died Sunday, June 22 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Goff was born on April 10, 1919 in Jackson, TN the son of Rev. C. M. Goff, Sr. and Maude Sloan Goff. He was a retired Sales Rep for Sealy Mattress Co; former member of Masonic Lodge # 45, York Rite; past president of Jackson Civitan Club and the Tenn. Furniture Travelers. He was also a member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Memorial Sunday School Class. He served in many capacities within the church & served in the US Army in the European Theater in World War II. His passions in life were family, friends, and playing golf.
Survivors are daughter, Judy Bowling; son, Bob Goff and wife Ann of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Kate and Kari Bowling of Asheville, NC and Beth Goff Allen and husband John also of Huntsville; great grandchild, Elizabeth Ann Allen; Dear Friend Thomasine Witherspoon of Jackson and Jamie Witherspoon of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goff was preceded in death by wife Dorothy Pope Goff and sisters Julia Mae Long, Ruth Lynch and Bonnie Kennon.
Pallbearers to serve are Scott David, David Warmbrod, Steve Young, Mark Hawks, Bill Rowe, Glenn Vanderford, Paul Chaplin, and Brooks Clayton.
Honorary pallbearers to serve are Jack Hilliard, Dr. Chuck Story, Al Zager, Wayne Timby, Warren Zeip, Bill Wagster, Jack May, Pepper Bray, Rusty Robinson and John Phillips.
The family will receive friends today, June 23 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. at the funeral home.
