Symphrosa "Rosa" Hill, b. 1790 in St. Mary's Co., was the daughter of Henry Hill (d. 1801) and Frances Manning. She married first, Lewis Ford 5/1/1810 and second, John Lewis Millard, 11/28/1826. She died 12/16/1830.
Henry Hill, father of Symphrosa, was the son of Clement Hill (originally from Prince George's County) and Ann Brooke (of St. Mary's County). Ann Brooke m. second, Rev. John Lucas.
12/2/1771- 7/2/1772: Admin. accts. of Clement Hill, SMC. Next of kin: Henry Hill, Sr. and Henry Hill, Jr., Adm: Ann Hill (Preg. Ct. Rec.).
Admin. accts. of Clement Hill 7/26/1774, SMC, sureties were John Smith and Ignatius Fenwick; Admx., Ann Lucas, wife of John Lucas (Skinner).
Will of Henry Hill, St. Mary's County, 8/3/1799-4/14/1801, JJ 2, 280. Son: Clement Hill, the plantation where I live called part of "Delabrooke Manor" which I bought from Francis Lewis Taney and the land called "America Felix" and "Sandy Ground" which I bought from my mother, Ann Lucas.
Daughter: Symphrosa Hill (a minor), my land in Medley's Neck called part of "Nun's Oak" which I bought from Bernard Medley. My wife, Frances Hill, may sell the land if it is to my daughter's advantage.
If my children die without heirs (and after the death of my wife, Frances), the land is to be sold and the money equally divided between my mother, Ann Lucas (one half), and to the male children of Henry Hill of Prince George's County (one half) who did not receive a donation from my grandfather, Henry Hill, in his will.
To: Wife, Frances Hill, and Children, Clement Hill and Symphrosa Hill, all of my personal estate equally divided. Executor: Wife, Frances Hill. Wit.: William Thomas, Ignatius Simms, Edward Fenwick
