    • Cornelia A. Mattingly died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Catherine's Village in Madison. She was 91. Born in Meridian, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Frances Avery and was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School in Meridian. Moving to Vicksburg in 1946, she was employed by the U.S. Government-Waterways Experiment Station, retiring in 1974 with 34 years of service. Mrs. Mattingly worked at Camp Shelby and Elgin Field prior to moving to Vicksburg. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and later St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison. She is survived by her husband, Stephen T. Mattingly; a sister, Mrs. Lynn Vincent (Frank) of Bailey; and other relatives, including Dorothy and Jim Johnson of Philadelphia, Miss. Services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Lalor, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Memorials may be made to charities of choice.
