Merry Christmas. I'm trying to figure out how everyone got a Thomas GOFF as parent to Edmond, Henry, Louis, Rhodica and Matilda GOFF. It is not correct. I have folks looking for their sources. HOWEVER, it does put all the family where it's easily visible. Which is a big help. I won't go into who their parents are right now, the male was a BARLOW, but wanted to point out your correct lineage.

You have your your Asale as a daughter of Louis who married Marinda. That's incorrect. That Louis (my ancestor) had a son Leander in 1854 so Marinda wouldn't have been able to squeeze another one in there. Asale was used several times in our BARLOW/GOFF families. Yours is the daughter of Louis & Martha A GAWF. That Louis is the son of Edmond Thomas, who is a brother to my Louis who married Marinda. Confusing, isn't it.

Here she is in the 1860 census with her family:
1860 Henderson Co., TN, Centre Point Post Office, Dist 12 (same Dist as Elias & Edmund GOFF) (Image 13 of 27 on Ancestry.com)
Louis Gawp 41 1818 Tennessee farmer $300/$200 (note says b. TN, vs. Alabama above)
      M E Gawp 31 1828 Tennessee
      Edwd Gawp 16 1843 Tennessee
      Emily Gawp 14 1845 Tennessee
      D.A. 12 TN
      Mary 10 TN
      Jane 9 TN
Azale? 5 TN female (ca 1855)
      Margaret 3 TN

and her parents probably in 1870:
?? 1870 Dist 12, Lexington, Henderson Co., TN (ages are a bit off)
      Martha 40
      Edmund 20
      Matthew 17 ???? (James Matthew?)
(no D.A. but he'd be 22 & could be off on his own)
      Mary 18
      Jane 14
(no Azale 15 or Margaret 13, could be dead or married)
      Robert 12
      Elias 6
      Ezekial 6
      Mary SPAIN 7
      Jasper SPAIN or GOFF? 8

In 1860 here is MY Louis:
      1860 Decatur Co., Census, Dist N 11(image 2/18 on Ancestry.com), 137-69 - (sometimes read as S.) L. Goff/M/SC/48, M./F/38, S.B./F/17, W.A./M/15, G.W./M/13, C.H./M/12, S.R./M/10(this is really John Riley), L.W./M/6, E.A./M/4, S.D./M/1 All except parents b. TN (S.B. is probably Amanda) (You'll notice L.W. [Leander Wesley] is b in 1864)

1870 Decatur Co., Census, p 2 Dist 11 - Lewis/NC/56/Cannot write, Marinda/TN/48/cannot write, Joseph W./24, Leander/15, Edmund A/14, ???/11, Louis A./9, ???/4 - all children b TN (Christopher is living in Hardin Co. with brother John Riley GOFF)

Ancestry makes it so easy to copy the mistakes of others. If I have confused you or you have questions, please let me know.

There is a Goff-Gough Family Association who did a 2005 yDNA study that showed our GOFFs to be BARLOWs and that Edmond, Henry & Louis were related. The next study was an autosomal study (what you did) and that shows that Edmond & Henry married sisters, they boys were brothers and they had a sister Matilda GAWF CARPENTER. We only had one test taker on Rhodica GAWF STANFILL when the study was written but now it looks like she is a sibling too.

If you send me your email address I can add you to the FB page. The actual articles are only available to members but there has been much discussion on the FB page. Oh, and since you're an Edmond descendant, there's also a FB page for his descendants.

      Your cousin,
      Maureen White Pierce
