      Dorothy G. (Hust) Hite, 92, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Solarbron.

      Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved to tell jokes and crochet, especially dish clothes. She was a life member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the VFW Post 1114 Ladies Auxiliary.

      Surviving Dorothy are two daughters, Carrie Jo (Dan) Dick of Evansville, and Mary (David) Herrmann of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a son, Sam Hite, Sr. of Evansville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Laura Clem, Cindy (Ed) Wagner, Chris (Monika) Herrmann, Karen (Brian) Buschkill, Sam (Sally) Hite, Jr. and Andrea (Joel) Steele; 14 great-grandchildren and her furry friends, Lucky and Lilly.

      Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert Hite, in 1998; and by her brothers and sisters.

      Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Jay Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

      Friends may visit with the family from 3 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
