      Joseph B. McKenna, 70, of 1220 North 55th Drive, Kansas City, Kansas, a former city and county employee and active in Democratic politics in Wyandotte County, passed away on Friday at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. McKenna retired in 1961 as a deputy county assessor. Prior to that he had been a chief inspector for the Kansas City, Kansas, engineering department, and was a purchasing agent for the William A. Knapp Company.

      Mr. McKenna and his wife, Mrs. Loraine L. McKenna, of the home, had been married for 51 years. She had been vice-president of Security National Bank before retirement. Mr. McKenna was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and of its Holy Name Society. Besides his wife, he was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise McDonald, of 822 Tauromee; a sister, Mrs. Mary C. Manning, of 1227 Sandusky; and three grandchildren.

      A prayer services was said at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Gibson-Butler Chapel, where friends called after 2 p.m. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. on Monday at the Gibson-Butler Chapel, and at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
