92, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Sacred Heart Village.
He was a native of Meade County KY, a retired employee of the old Riley Park Hayden Associates, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church.
He was a gentle man who had a great love of, and interest in, the people in his life.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gayle Ballard; and siblings, Rita, Rose, Sr. Mary Alfred, Alfred Louis, John, Bob and Con.
His is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances Downs Burch; children, Dr. Gene Burch (Mary Ann), Judy Greenwell (Ron) and Bonnie Cress; a son-in-law, Frank Ballard (Peggy); grandchildren, T. J. Burch (Andrea), Chris Ballard (Monica), Becca Ballard, Dr. Scott Greenwell (Tracy), Jo Anne Burris (Jace), Megan Phelps (Michael) and Kristin Jackson (Lance); eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Martyr Church, 2931 Pindell Ave., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home 2723 Preston Highway.
