    • BURCH, FRANCIS & ELIZABETH HILL (son of Walter "Waddy" Burch & Theresa Hagan)(daughter of Charles Hill & Margaret "Peggy" Nichols)(married 6-28-1812 Nelson Co., Ky)
      Baptized Helen Burch, 4-16-1837, by Rev. Athanasius A. Aud at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Birth date, 4-09-1837. Sponsor, Margaret Burch. Parents: Francis Burch and Elizabeth Hill.

      He may have had a first unknown wife.

      The young couple (he and Elizabeth Hill) settled on the Rolling Fork in what was Hardin County and is today Larue County. FRANCIS BURCH ran a distillery next to his ranch style home.
      ELIZABETH died 10/3/1848 at the age of 52 and was buried at St. Catherine's in New Haven, Kentucky,
      In Nelson County on 1/11/1849 FRANCIS BURCH married secondly Ellen Buckman, the daughter of Joseph Buckman and Elizabeth Abell, no children. FRANCIS BURCH wrote his will on 6/18 /1856. He desired his land and slaves to be sold and his estate to be divided among his wife and children, and the children of his son CHARLES to have his part. The amount that his children had already received which he mentioned in his will, was to be deducted from their share. He appointed SYLVESTER JOHNSON as his executor.
      FRANCIS BURCH died 8/9/1856 and was buried next to his first wife in St. Catherine's Cemetery. In Nelson County on 7/28/1857 Mrs. Ellen Burch, the widow of FRANCIS BURCH, married secondly Ignatius Bryan, who died shortly after their marriage. At St. Catherine's on 11/19/1863 Ellen Buckman Burch Bryan married thirdly John A. Simms, no children. They moved to Stithton, Kentucky where they ran a hotel.
