      Chalk, S. V.
      S. V. Chalk, 37, well-known and prominent at Sardis, passed away at the Crook Sanatorium, in Jackson last Sunday. He was carried there for treatment the day before and his condition at that time was that there was such small hope for his recovery. He is survived by his wife, a son Glen; his father, W. H. Chalk; three brothers, J. A. Chalk of Decaturville; R. A. Chalk of Sardis and J. B. Chalk of Juno; five sisters, Mrs. J. C. Dyer, Mrs. Leo Presley, Mrs. Hattie Tucker and Miss Beatrice Chalk, all of Sardis and Mrs. T. A. Johnson of Jackson. The remains were interred in the Sardis cemetery last Tuesday, Rev. J. T. Bradford officiating.
