    • PORT LAVACA - Rosary will be recited tonight at 6:30 o'clock at his residence in Port Lavaca for Edward Chester Buren, 74, who died at a Victoria hospital Friday morning. He was a former resident of Kentucky but had lived in Port Lavaca for 34 years.
      Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:45 o'clock from his home and at 10 o'clock from Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Rev. T. E. Buren, a nephew from Louisville, Kentucky, Rev. Leo Busch, of Port O'Connor and Rev. Patrick Ryan of Port Lavaca will officiate. Burial will be in the Lynworth Cemetery.
      Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. G. C. Boyd, Mrs. W. E. Guidry and Mrs. V. F. Guidry, all of Port Lavaca; three sons, J. P. and C. L. Buren, both of Port Lavaca, and E. C. Buren of Sanatorium: three brothers, S. C. Buren, Leitchfield, Kentucky, C. A. Buren, Louisville, Kentucky, and E. C. Buren Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. L. C. O'Bryan, Morganfield, Kentucky, Sister Mary Cecelia Buren, Boston, Massachusetts, and Mrs. H. A. Halsema, Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
      His wife, Mrs Mary Florence Troutman Buren, whom he married Oct. 25, 1898, at Saint Teresa Church in Kentucky, died Jan. 28, 1947.
      Pallbearers will be Stanley E. Smith, Harry Smith, Owen Smith Sr., George Elder, P. E. Elder, and Joe Guidry.
      Members of the flower committee will include the Girls Friendly Society, Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary. Richardson Funeral Home here is in charge of arrangements.
