This Rhodes family has a line of descent from the Gough Family of St. Mary's County, Maryland, and also had some members who migrated to Kentucky via Loudoun County, Virginia. John Abraham Rhodes (mentioned above) was a grandson of Abraham Rhodes of Fosbury Plains (in St. Mary's Hundred), St. Mary's County, Maryland, by his first known wife Mary Gough.
