  • Notes
    • Yes. Michael and Julianna Shircliff are my gg-grandparents, their son Andrew James and Mary Adeline Padgett are my great-grandparents.

You have most of it right but some errors.

Mary E. Cunningham married Owen Cavanaugh 11 Apr 1864, they had 10 children.

I can tell you Patrick Joseph was married at least 3 times and I had heard family stories it was more like 5 times. Laura is Laura Ann Padgett married him 09 Jan 1872 in Martin Co. He married Catherine M. Madden 07 May 1901 also in Martin Co. I had a note to investigate Margaret Coran. I did find a Daviess Co. rec 07 Jan 1864 where she is transcribed as Margaret Horan, but wasn't sure.

Elizabeth Ann was known as Lydia died 30 Apr 1933 in Martin Co. She and Thomas Addison Seal had 7 children that I know of. (Thomas was Andrew's wife Adeline Padgett's uncle)

Louis F. Cunningham was b. 23 Jan 1857 Martin Co. IN and d. 25 May 1902 in Loogootee. He was murdered during a bar fight. Married Maude M. Parks 03 Jan 1900 and only had one daughter Doris Marie. Never heard of Sarah Carter?? I've been told he also married Mary Alice Brown, but I think that too is a different Louis Cunningham as I believe she had children and I know Doris was Louis' only child. Doris was only 1 or 2 when she lost both parents. She first went to live with her aunt Mary and Owen Cavanaugh after Louis died and Mary died 1910 when Doris was only 9. My aunts and uncles were very close to her.

Michael Bernard was born Aug 1859, married Margaret "Maggie" Kennedy 27 Spe 1887. They had one daughter Mary Beatrice. I still haven't been able to find his death rec.

John A. was b. Aug 1861 and married Anna Mary Livers 10 Oct 1882 and had 10 children. Don't know who John M. and Margaret Myers are but not this family.

Finally Francis "Frank" Joseph b. Mar 1966 d. 07 Sep 1921 on the family farm near Loogootee. He married first Frances Hopkins 07 Oct 1890 and had 4 children Marie Rose, Joseph Bernard, Carl and Eugenia. After Frances died he married Catherine Effa Smith 26 Apr 1902 and they had 4 children Glenn, Ralph, Catherine and George Francis.

Frank and Frances son, known as Bernard and/or J. B., published a family history in Urbana, Champaign, IL where he was a professor. He recalled his grandmother Julianna Shircliff living with them when he was growing up. My granmother was very close to most of her cousins and my dad and J.B. knew each other and I have some photos of many of them.

I have lots more if you're interested
