  • Notes
    • Diana was the daughter of Noflet and Georgia "Yvonne" (Gough) Deshields.
They were also the parents of,
      !.David Bryant DeShields (1944-1976)

Noflet was killed in WORLD WAR II in 1945, Diana was age 2, David 7 months.

Georgia "Yvonne" eventually remarried Emil George Klein (1915-1981) raised Diana and David as his own.
In that marriage, three sons were born,
!. Garry Klein (Twin to Larry) still living.
      2. Larry Klein (Twin to Garry) still living.
      3. Wayne Klein still living.

Diana was raised and remained a devoted Catholic all her life.
She attended Catholic School in the year of her First Communion she met the young man that eventually became her husband and love of her life. Bruce Wayne Fernandez the 1st (1942-).
They were raising their three children together when the Lord called her home.
      Those children are,
      1. Bruce Wayne Fernandez the 2nd (1962-)
      2. Bryan Eric Fernandez (1965-)
      3. Andrea Yvonne Fernandez (1968-)

Diana and Bruce the 1st, were a couple that was truly meant to be. They had such a strong, loving, bond. Decisions were made together on just about everything.

Devoted to their faith, the family were members of and children attended school at Incarnation Catholic Church (Tampa, Florida. ) Diana, drove the children 15-20 miles, back and forth to school on a daily basis, attended many school functions, for their children and as a volunteer.

Diana devoted her unconditional love. compassion, time, energy, and gave her all to everyone in her life.
She was a rare, genuine person.
She took care of her brother David, during and until the day he lost his battle to Cancer.
She loved animals, if she saw a stray, it came home as a new member of the family.
She loved to dance, when their children were old enough to be at home alone, Diana and Bruce the 1st, had regular dance dates at Joyland of (Pinellas County, Florida).

One of the major decisions, early during Diana and Bruce the 1st's marriage, was that she would never work outside of their home. Bruce the !st, knew she always wanted to be home and available to the family.
She began her hobby of Ceramics.

Soon after, she became the owner of a Ceramic Shop, in which she made, sold and taught Ceramics. This was her passion, and succeeded rather well in this business. She attended every seminar she could, to learn new techniques in the art and crafting of ceramics.
Again, she kept this business at home, with her family. As her business grew and grew, so did the home. Additions were built to accommodate her products, Kilns, and students. I can remember on Bruce the 1st's days off from work, he too joined her in her shop, pouring the ceramics into the molds. Bruce the 1st, also made creations (castles) out of modeling clay.

When she became ill, (her battle with Cancer), she attended St. Paul's Catholic Church. (Closer to home). Were she spent many summers teaching Vacation Bible School, and made a difference in many children's lives.

On April 1st, 1983 (Good Friday that year), she lost her battle with Cancer and went home to be with the Lord.

There was a Mass and Funeral Services for her at St. Paul's Church, on April 4th, 1983. Procession to Lake Carroll Cemetery where a grave site service was given.

Rest easy Mom, you are loved and missed by many, I hope to see you again some day.
