In looking over what I have this morning and doing a little searching, I'm inclined to believe that Robert Fenwick was the son of Richard Fenwick who died 1852 in Union Co., KY. I also think that the census data taken in 1850 was in error and Robert said he was born in Washington Co. and the census taker assumed it was Washington, D.C. In 1860, Robert said he was born in KY. Two of his sons in 1880 said their father was born in KY.

      > I was given your name as a reference for one of my ancestors, Robert Fenwick. He was born around 1805 in Washington, DC or Maryland. He was married on Oct. 26, 1836 in Hardin Co. KY to Elizabeth Burch. He died on Sept. 30, 1862 in Union Co.KY. I would like to know who his parents are, and any other info you could help me with. How do you charge for info? Thank you so much for your help. Please reply to suebird@comcast.net.

In 1811, there is a Benjamin Fenwick marrying a daughter in Washington County, KY

      Smith, William s/o Wm.
      Fenwick, Sarah d/o Benj.
      10 Feb 1811

In 1830 we find Benjamin and Bennett living in Union County, KY

In 1840 there is only a Richard in Union County.

      1840 Union County Census

The 1850 Union County Census we find Robert and the Census does specify DC.

      738 Fenwick, Robert 45 M DC
      E.K 30 F
      Julian 10 F
      George J. 8 M
      E.M. 6 F
      Thomas 4 M

However, the 1860 Union County Census specifies that he was born in Kentucky

      367 Fenwick, Robert 53 M W Farmer 5,000 5,000 KY
      George 18 M W Farmer KY
      Thomas 15 M W Farmer KY
      Patrick 10 M W Farmer KY
      William 8 M W KY

Elizabeth Burch died 3 Nov 1856 and is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. I haven't found a record for Robert yet. This is what I have for this family.
