      Mabel Goff,
Mrs. Mabel Goff, 96, of Scotts Hill, passed away Monday, December 22, 2003 at Henderson County Hospital.

Mrs. Goff was born July 18, 1907 to the late Charles Albert and Mollie Holland Eason.

Mrs. Goff spent her life in the Scotts Hill area where she worked as a store clerk for many years at Tarlton's Store and Kelly's Store.

She was the oldest member of Scotts Hill Church of Christ, where she taught many children in Sunday School for over 40 years. In recent years, she missed going to church, but continued to read her Bible through every year.

She was known for her beautiful quilts which were sold to people in almost every state and often given by her as loving gifts. She loved visits from people and visitors always left feeling happier than when they arrived.

In 1994, she lost her husband of 68 years, Mr. Troy Goff. Her son, Charles, died in childhood and 7 brothers and 3 sisters preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Dyer and son-in-law, Tom Dyer of Scotts Hill, by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at Scotts Hill Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. on today, December 23, 2003 with J. Walker Whittle and Harley Walker officiating. Interment at Liberty Cemetery near Scotts Hill.

Visitation will be held today from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
