    • Frances Timora Ross, 93 of Memphis, MO, formerly of New London, MO died on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

      A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Holy Family Church in Hannibal, MO. Father Roy Bauer officiated. Burial was at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.

      Mrs. Ross was born March 10, 1918, in Center, MO to Sylvester Price and Bridget Loretto Plemming Gough.

      She was married to Pressley M. Ross on July 31, 1942 in New London, MO. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1953.

      Survivors include five children: Richard Ross (Donna) of Galesburg, IL, Ann McClintic (Jim) of Memphis, MO, Robert Ross of New London, MO; Randall Ross of Troy, MO, and Ralph Ross (Cara) of Columbia, MO; two sisters: Lucy McCann, of Nevada, MO and Helen Griffin (Dale) of Columbia, MO; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Jim Ross (Tommi) of Columbia, MO, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Verl Ross of Columbia, MO, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sam Ross of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mildred Bode

      Mrs. Ross was the Ralls County Collector and Circuit Clerk and Recorder for over 45 years. She was a devoted Catholic being a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO. She was also a member of the Ralls County Historical Society. She was an active member of the Monday Study Club in New London, MO. She loved to read, working crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Mrs. Ross enjoyed spending time with her friends.
