I was just looking at this again and wondering where did you get the dates of birth for Mathew Nevett and Eleanor Jarboe also do you know for a fact that she was a Jarboe??? Dorothy Nevitt would have been born before 1795 as her gr grandfather John Ford left her his second best bed and furniture. in his will of 1794...Also her sister Ann was left a negro boy named Peter...Smcmd. wills.
James Gough married Dorothy Nevitt 1814 Nelson County, Ky. Marriages
he is shown living with son William Gough in Daviess County, Ky in 1850 Census.
Had previously lived in Spencer County, Ky where he had a home and blacksmith shop
I have copy of picture of home and blacksmith shop..also papers regarding turn over of shop. upon moving to Daviess County he turned property over to son in law Samuel Snider with provisions that he take care of Ellen Gough Snider and her children. I have copy of marriage bond with James Gough signing for Ellen to marry Samuel Snider.
Hiram Gough was also mentioned as blacksmith at same shop. Hiram married Melissa Thompson sister of William Gough's wife Mildred Thompson both daughters of Charles Thompson and Jane Nevitt Thompson, another daughter of Matthew Nevitt and Eleanor. Hiram and William had farms later back to back in Daviess County .Ky ky illustrated map.. .James believed to have died about 1854 in Daviess County Ky.

REGARDING
James Gough, that married Dorothy Nevitt in 1814 dau of Matthew Nevitt and Eleanor.
Have found a James Gough living with Gough family in Spencer County Census 1850
he is 65yr. old Have access to paperwork where he mortgaged land house and blacksmith shop in Spencer Co. to his son-in-law Samuel Snider in 1847..His daughter was Ellen Gough and James is living with Wm Gough and Mildred Thompson Gough, in Daviess County 1850 Census..Mildred Gough was a sister of Melissa Thompson who married Hiram Gough. a blacksmith who also worked at the blacksmith shop or a time in Spencer co. ky wound up in Daviess County with farm back to back with William ... NOW WHAT I HOPE TO FIND OUT DOES ANYONE KNOW IF JAMES AND DOROTHY HAD HIRAM AND WILLIAM SONS, AND DAU. ELLEN WAS THERE ANY OTHER CHILDREN ...DOES ANYONE KNOW?
I sent a picture of James Gough's house and Blacksmith shop in Taylorsville, (Spencer County) to the Kentuky Spence Count web page a couple of years ago. I found these two pictures in an album of my grandmothers, Henriette Victoria Hillerich (married to Francis Sachs) her mother was Caroline Snider/Hillerich daughter of Ellen Gough (Snider )and Samuel Snider. In the blacksmith shop one of Ellen's sons (on the left) has reddish blonde hair. I had wondered previously where that comes from? Now I know it most likely is the Gough side.
Thanks for all the wonderful info you have already forwarded.
