>mike - I am in the process of tracking gough's in my area and will forward when finished.. the one son of ignatius gough I cannot find death info on is John L. gough, b. 1834... when I get to civil war time he seems to disappear.. there are so many of these guys in the war I am not sure where/what hapens... it looks like a john l. gough enlists in vincennes and then goes to vanderburgh county..... I think he must have survived the war and dies later but does not return to washington, in.. most of the newspapers dedicated to civil war have disappeared in washington and the local news is sketchy.. do you have any thoughts or info on this?

I finally found igantius gough/sarah hagan's son john l. gough... that was a tough one... he joined army, was in 3 different outifts in civil war from 1861 to 1866, thren lived in kansas 10yrs, next to texas, contracted yellow fever in mexico which was so debilitating he could not work, lost his hearing, wore glasses, started receiving pension in 1900 and died at disabled vet hospital in leavenworth kansas in 1905.. that info wripes up my work on ignatius children and still trying to find proof and date for mary gough shircliff... it is always a book in progress but I want to make the lindiana side as complete as yours.
