Notes - I've done just a little work on this issue this morning, but I'm pretty sure he was the son of Peter Gough (d. 1766) and Eleanor Bould (Bowles?).
Will of Peter Gough, SMC 9/24/1766-2/10/1767. Son: Ignatius, plantation in case he pays his brother Bennet 5000 lbs. tobacco. Daughter: Elizabeth Martindale. Personal estate to 7 youngest daughters and wife. Daughters: Ann, Mary, Eleanor, and Kezia Gough. Exec: Wife, Eleanor. Wit: John Tarlton, Ann Tarlton, James Jordan. (Maryland Calendar of Wills).
Note that Peter Gough didn't name all of his 7 youngest daughters, but Ann is one of them and I'd be willing to bet that Susan was another. Linda Reno

The Last Will of Peter Gough
In the name of God Amen
I Peter Gough of St. Mary's County and Province of Maryland, being sick & weak of body , but of perfect understanding thanks be to God, Therefore, I do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows Vizt first I reccomend my soul to God and for my body I reccomend it to the Earth to be decently buried at the discreation of my Executors, hereafter named, as touching my worldly goods where with it have pleased Almighty God bless me with I dispose as follows. I give and bequeath to my son Ignatius Gough my dwelling plantation where I now live in case he pays his brother Bennet Gough five thousand pounds of Crop Tobacco, and that to be their ful part of my Estate, my will and meaning is that in case my son Ignatius refuses to pay his Brother Bennet, five Thousand pounds of crop tobacco when he comes to the age of twenty one then the Plantation to be my son Bennett's. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Martindall one shilling one shilling sterling money of Great Britian, and that to be her full part of my Estate. I give and bequeath all my personal Estate to my soon youngest Daughters, and my beloved wife, after all my just debts are paid my will and meaning is, that after my wifes thirds is Taken out the remainder part to be equally devided amongst my daughters hereafter named Vizt my Daughter Anne Gough, Mary Gough, & Sarah Gough, and my Daughters Susanna Gough, Katherine Gough, Elenor Gough, and Treacia Gough Lastly I do constitute and appoint my beloved wife Elenor my whole & sole Executor of this my Last will and Testament, in witness where of I have here unto set my hand, and affixed my seal this 24th Day of September 1766
