Agnes Loretta Girten, 85, of Mount Carmel, passed away May 25, 2012.
She was born March 10, 1927, in Morganfield, Kentucky, the daughter of Herman Joseph and Mary Eileen (Beaven) Greenwell.
Agnes married Paul Milton Girten on November 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2002.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Carmel, Ill. She devoted her life to her husband and family. All who entered her home were warmly welcomed as family.
Agnes is survived by her sons, Ron (Faye) Girten, of Gallatin, Tenn., David (Jeanette) Girten, of Noblesville, Ind.; daughters, Frances (Dan) Strine, of West Salem, Ill., Patty Reeves, of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Jen Girten (Jamey) Campbell, Amanda (Travis) Garner, Jeff Girten, Cori (Greg) Meunier, Jill Winter, Brent (Melissa) Strine, Brandon (Alicia) Reeves, Kristy Reeves; nine great-grandchildren, Mason and Miller Campbell, Paxon and Asher Garner, Alexa and Eli Meunier, Camryn and Blake Strine, Zoey Reeves; nine brothers and sisters, Herman (Sonny) Greenwell, of Henderson, Ky., Gertrude (Tootie) Hite, of Smith Mills, Ky., Juanita Hagan, of Waverly, Ky., Willard (Joyce) Greenwell, of Morganfield, Ky., Donald Greenwell, of Madisonville, Ky., Lyle (Dot) Greenwell, of Evansville, Ind., Billy (Midgie) Greenwell, of Eddyville, Ky., Bobby (Faye) Greenwell, of Morganfield, Ky., Doris Jean Greenwell, of Evansville, Ind.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
