    • Crossing the Dark River; Henderson County, Tennessee, Obituaries; 1827-1950 p. 471 GOFF, Elias Samuel (The Lexington Progress, April 3, 1942) Elias Samuel Goff was born near Reagan March 5, 1864, and died March 26th, 1942, at his home near Lexington. He was the son of Elias Perry and Martha Spain Goff. He was married to Susan Jane Scott November 8th, 1889, and to this union were born three sons who survive—S. of Blytheville, Arkansas, C. F., and Dee, of Lexington—all of whom were at his bedside when the end came. He is also survived by an older brother, Robert W. Goff, of Hernando, Mississippi, and a twin brother, Hezakiah (sic) T. Goff of Lexington. He united with Latter Day Saints Church at Liberty Hill some thirty years ago and remained a faithful member until the end. Funeral services were held at Center Hill Church by Elder Barney Ross of Parish after which the body was laid to rest in the nearby cemetery.
