      Evansville, Ind.
      Dorothy Dean (Greenwell) Wargel , 77, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at her residence.
      Dorothy was born in Union County, Kentucky on October 9, 1934, the day the Cardinals won the World Series, to the late Robert and Mary (Johnson) Greenwell. She was named after Dizzy Dean. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in the county. She was also a member of the VFW 1114 Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy was the most loving, caring, generous wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all. She loved traveling with her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
      Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Carolyn S. Wargel of Evansville, IN, Sharon Beaven (Chuck) of Elberfeld, IN, son, Raymond Wargel (Cindy) of Evansville, IN, sisters, Betty Walden (Herb) of Evansville, IN, Wanda Robertson (Bill) of Evansville, IN, brothers, Sonny Greenwell (Violet) of Evansville, IN, David Greenwell (Pat) of Evansville, IN, grandchildren, Ryan Beaven, Tyler Sumner, Shaun Beaven, Chance Wargel, Logan Beaven and Jenna Wargel, many nieces and nephews.
      Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene A. Wargel in 1999, her parents, brothers, Fred and Michael Greenwell.
      A funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the County, 6202 West St. Joseph Rd., Evansville, IN 47720 with Father Eugene Schroeder celebrating. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
      Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 and again from 10:00 AM until mass time at the church.
      Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in the County.
