  • Notes
    • February 13, 1933, God made a farmer, James Willard Greenwell. A man whose accolades could fill pages and whose anecdotes may not be appropriate for print, Willard Greenwell was many things: a pioneer in the agriculture industry, a man who was quick to offer a joke or a cold Diet Mountain Dew, a fervent practitioner of the Catholic faith, a nationally acclaimed cook whose Rocky Mountain oysters earned the praise of Emily Post, and a farmer whose love for his land was evident to anyone who met him. Above all, he was good. A genuine human being with a true servant’s heart who put his family before anything else, is now touching the “Green, Green Grass of Home.” Surrounded by his incredibly proud and adoring wife and best friend Joyce, his children and grandchildren who all came to see him, arms reaching and smiling sweetly, James Willard Greenwell reunited with his parents, Herman Joseph & Mary E. (Beaven) Greenwell his several brothers and sisters Juanita Hagan, Agnes Girten, Anna Gertrude “Tootie” Hite, Herman “Sonny” Greenwell, Don “Mose” Greenwell, Lyle Greenwell, and Jerry Greenwell, and infant brother, and entered the gates of his heavenly home on February 7, 2021.
