Notes - John V. (J.V) Greenwell, 93, of Evansville, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019. He was born December 19, 1925 in Uniontown, KY to the late Huston and Mabel Greenwell.
J.V. retired in 1991 from Construction Equipment International. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking walks, playing cards and his small garden.
J.V. was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He will be remembered by his big smile.
He is survived by his brother who he cherished, Jerry (Bonnie) Greenwell; sister in law, Doris Greenwell; niece and caregiver, Debbie Hebbeler; and several nieces and nephews.
J.V. was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Opal and son, Gary Lee. He loved and missed them deeply. His brothers, Francis, Austin, and Joseph (Kid) Greenwell; sisters, Arletta Higginson and Charlotte O`Leary; niece, Rita Joyce Mann.
Visitation will be 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 Lodge Ave, Evansville, IN 47714. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Alex Zenthoefer officiating.
Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gary L. Greenwell
Endowment, in support of the Holy Spirit Church campus.
