>RICHARD HAMILTON (deceased), son of Alexander and Harriett (Edelen) Hamilton, was born in Washington County, Ky., December 29, 1811. His grandfather, Thomas Hamilton, was a native of Maryland, and one of the earliest pioneers of Washington County. He settled about five and one-half miles northwest of Springfield and was a resident of his adopted county until his death, which occurred many years ago. Alexander Hamilton was born in Maryland, but was brought to Kentucky when a small boy, and passed the remainder of his life in Washington County.

I know I'm descended from them. Alexander Hamilton, born 1788 (in MD?) married Harriet Edelen. Their son Thomas Goddard Hamilton married Letitia Smith and had a son Samuel Richard Hamilton.
Alexander was from MD, I think and died in KY. I saw his home from the road at the last MD/KY reunion. Thomas Goddard Hamilton was born and died in KY in that same area, called Fredericksburg. Samuel Richard was born in that area, (is it still Washington County?) and moved to the Waverly, Union County area.
How are you connected?
Mary Lee
