    • Born Henry Hayden, the son of Lewis and Julia (Rapier) Hayden of Kentucky, Brother Dennis Hayden, C.F.X., joined the Congregation of St. Francis Xavier in 1881. He was a teacher at several Xaverian Brothers schools in Massachusetts and at Mount St. Joseph College in Baltimore, where he was the prefect of discipline. From 1899 to 1907, he was the superintendent of St. James Home for Boys. He then served at Abbotstown, Pennsylvania, before returning to Baltimore, where he died at age 63.
