    • Stephen Gough was born in St. Mary's County, Maryland, the son of James Gough and Priscilla Heard. He married first Ann ______. the son was baptized by the Jesuits. He married secondly Dorothy Heard, the daughter of Margaret Heard......

      However, on page 276, she writes:

      Keep this in mind concerning Ms. Donnelly's books: Good for clues, not for facts.

      Dorothy Heard, daughter of MATTHEW Heard and Margaret Leigh, married William Gough in St. Mary's Co., April 15, 1800. William Gough was deceased by 1820 when Dorothy was listed as head of household. At least one of her children, if not more, moved to Baltimore.
