      b. 3-9-1770 MD, d. 6-16-1809 Scott Co., KY. Mary Jones and not Mary Medley? The birth date of this Mary Jones is totally different from that of Mary Medley, b. November 14, 1768. Your correspondent is incorrect. John Gough (not John Baptist Gough), 1767-10/15/1804 married Mary Jones, dau. of Solomon Jones, Jr. and Ann Fenwick. They didn't go to Kentucky. Both died here, and Mary (Jones) Gough died on 1/1/1841 at Medley's Neck.

      12/1799: The court appointed John Gough as guardian to Clare Jones, orphan of Solomon Jones. Securities: James Williams and Wilfred Manning. (Orphan Ct. Rec., Fenwick). (This was his sister-in-law).

      9/6/1813: Admin. accts. of John Gough, SMC. Admx.: Mary Gough. Widow, 1/3. Equally: Sons, George Gough and Thomas W. Gough. (SMC Balances and Distributions).

      1/5/1841: Died on January 1 at the res. of her son, Thomas W. Gough, in Mealy's Neck (sic), St. Mary's Co., Md., Mrs. Mary Gough, in her 64th year. (National Intelligencer Newspaper Abstracts, 1841).
