Notes - One source shows that Basil had a daughter named Jane who married a McAtee. Most sources believe Jane was the daughter of Nancy Mattingly, who married a Mudd and would have been Basil's grand-daughter. Rev. Herman E. Mattingly shows a marriage date of 1-4-1802. The Marion County census of 1850 shows Mary B. as head of household with four children: William 28, Henry 26, Berrilla 22, and Mary 10 (probably a daughter of Mahala and Washington). Basil was likely born on 5-5-1772 as this is the date on his headstone. Several researchers show the date of 1766. Pat Place shows a son named Raphael but I believe this was a son of the daughter, Mahala. Ralphael was born about 1836 and Basil was dead by 1834.
Basil has 2 burial markers in 2 different sections of St. Charles Cemetery.
The older stone is the 1st one below. The date of birth shown in the 1st is presumed correct.
Section A; Card 27; # 37, in the book about St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery by Gerald Thompson.
