    • The Kansas City Times (MO) ~ Thursday, 30 Apr 1931
An airplane plunged a thousand feet to earth Wednesday on to Phillips Airport, about two miles west of Bartlesville, killing 21-year-old Ruth Beaven, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas. The pilot, who bought the plane in Wichita, was slightly injured. He said the craft nose-dived after an aileron apparently became detached. Miss Beaven and Mr. Conover frequently flew together.

Miss Beaven formerly was a pupil at the Catholic High School in Kansas City, Kansas, and attended St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, Kansas, graduating in 1929. Word of the accident was received by her sister, Mrs. Joseph McKenna. Miss Beaven had lived in Bartlesville with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles I. Beaven, and a sister, Miss Emily Beaven. Until three years ago, the family had lived in Kansas City, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at 8 o'clock on Saturday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joseph McKenna, 1239 Sandusky Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, and at 8:30 o'clock at St. Peter's Church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
