    • Notes for JAMES EARL NEWTON:
Thoughts concerning my relationship with uncle Jim:
I am Jim's nephew James Allan Murphy the son of Jim's sister Martha. Uncle Jim
was always kind to me. I remember when I was a kid uncle Jim would always find a
minute or two to play and kid around with me. As I grew to my teenage years he
continued to find a way to communicate with me. He never critisized but often teased
me about my long hair, which was the style in the late 1960's and early 1970's. I
moved from Louisville after becoming an adult and came home once a year to visit. I
usually managed to get a chance to see uncle Jim during my visit. During this time he
always seemed to express real interest in my travels and how my life was going.
Perhaps not having children of his own allowed me to receive the attention that his
      children would have recieved.
I was saddened when my mother told me of uncle Jim's death. I will miss him.
