    • Crossing the Dark River; Henderson County, Tennessee, Obituaries; 1827-1950 p. 519 GOFF, Dorothy Bateman (The Lexington Progress, November 30, 1945) Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Bateman Goff, wife of Stephen L. Goff, were conducted at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lexington by Rev. Edwin E. Deusner, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville. Mrs. Goff was born at Parsons, January 24, 1911, and died at Selmer, November 26, 1945, being at the time of her death 34 years of age. During the ministry of the Rev. John T. Buck, Mrs. Goff united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a loyal member until ill health overtook her. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Nancy; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. John M. Bateman of Selmer, three sisters, Mrs. S. W. Craig of Carthage; Miss Patty Jean Bateman of Nashville, and Mrs. W. C. Sweatt of Tuscumbia, Alabama; and three brothers, Hallie and James of Selmer, and Lynn of Nashville.
