Notes - Kay C. Wildenthaler, 73, of Galion, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at home.
Born July 26, 1939 in Frankfort, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Everett and Elizabeth (Gough) Sparks. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Paul "Pook" Wildenthaler, whom she married Nov. 8, 1958.
Kay was a graduate of Galion High School in 1957 and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at home with her husband. A gifted gambler, Kay was always lucky. She is retired from Galion Building and Loan where she was a teller and previously worked for the Galion City Schools in the cafeteria.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Mel Wildenthaler of San Diego; and three grandchildren, Paul M. Wildenthaler of San Francisco and Ali and Julia Wildenthaler of San Diego; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Sandy Sparks of Galion and Ronald and Joyce Wildenthaler of Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews including Stacey (Fred) Russell, Rachel (Jeff) Hinton and Michael (Caren) Sparks, all of Galion.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ken Sparks and Everett "Junior" Sparks; an infant brother, Gerald Lee Sparks and one sister-in-law, Pat Sparks.
The family will receive friends at Paul and Kay's home from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 28. At Kay's request no funeral services will be held.
