Mrs. Margaret E. Spalding, aged seventy-three years, died at 12:45 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of her son, James Spalding, west of town, after a long illness from a complication of diseases.

Her first husband being Patrick Healy. Two children were born to their union, one of whom, Mrs. Margaret McKenna, of Terre Haute, survives. Some time following the death of Mr. Healy she married William E. Spalding, now deceased. Four children of their union survive. They are James P. Spalding of Barr township, with whom the deceased made her home; Mrs. Louis T. Gootee, of Mississippi, Mrs. P.F. Ryan of Barr township, and Sister Alphonsus Lagouri of St. Mary of the Woods. She also leaves three step-children- Mrs Lucy A. Summers of Evansville, Mrs. John Butcher and Mrs. Ignatius Bolding of Washington.
