Notes - Daniel Irvin Thomas Sr, 82, former resident of Paintsville and Pikeville, KY, died Thu, Jan. 28 in Naples, FL. He was born on Dec 14, 1927, in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Jerome and Thelma O'Bryan Thomas and son-in-law, Gene Borland, Midway, KY. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from Whayne Supply Company after 47 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Kercher Thomas; three sons, Jim (Kim) Thomas, Dan Thomas Jr, and Robert Thomas; six daughters, Nancy (Terry) Walker, Susan Borland, Mary (Vince) Bienek, Cathy (Paul David) Brown, Peggy Draughn and Jeanne (Scott) Kreutzer; three brothers; two sisters; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Mon, 5-9 pm at Clark Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Tues, 10 am at St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Anne Cemetery, Morganfield, KY.
