      Joseph O'Connell "Connie" Thomas, age 87 of Uniontown, KY died Mon. 5/2/2016 at Breckinridge Place in Morganfield, KY. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the director of 1st Federal for several years and was the former owner of Thomas Dry Goods and Downs and Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Jerome Thomas, Sr. and Thelma Thomas; 2 brothers, Jerry and Dan Thomas. Survivors include: Wife of 63 years, Ruth Janet Thomas of Uniontown, KY; 3 daughters, Mary Eagan and husband David of Charlestown, IN, Ann Thomas of Sturgis, KY, and Martha Martin and husband Lew of Sturgis, KY; 3 sons, Joe Thomas of Uniontown, KY, Kenneth Thomas and wife Evonne of Uniontown, KY, and Fr. John Thomas of Bowling Green, KY; 10 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; 1 brother, Kenneth Thomas of Murray, KY; 2 sisters, Celestine Akard of Erlanger, KY and Minerva Sarver of Lake Wylle, SC. Funeral service will be 12 noon Thurs. 5/5/2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown, KY. Fr. John Thomas and Fr. Randy Howard will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Morganfield. Visitation will be 4-8PM Wed. with prayers beginning at 7PM and 10AM until service time on Thurs. at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Memorial contributions can be made to John Paul II Catholic School.
