I have an old post from this list dated Sunday, 5 April 1998, Subject: BOWLES

The researcher, Winifred Dalrymple, said her info came from Mary Louise Donnelly's book (?) Didn't she have more than one? Anyway, here is a tidbit for you from that post:

3-William Bowles (-before 11/2/1743) Born in St Mary's County. Next of kin on his inventory were his nephew John Bowles and his wife's brother Peter Gough.
sp: Elizabeth Gough (-) Daughter of James Gough and Elizabeth

Beth thanks, yes Mary Louise Donnelly has a number of books. I have 'St. Mary's County, Maryland Colonial Period Tenants and Owners of "Beaverdam Manor" and surrounding manors.' On page 143, it has:

"William Bould was deceased by 11/2/1743 when Elizabeth and her second husband Willlam Daft administered his estate, valued at 160.09.10 pounds. The next of kin on his inventory were his son John Bould and Peter Gough, the brother of his wife (inv 28:448). Elizabeth Daft was named as next of kin on the inventories of her brothers, James Gough and John Baptist Gough." Mike
