      Anna Lavenia (Vize) Hamilton, 88, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY.

      She is survived by six sons, Kenny (Lucy), Gerald (Charlotte), Fred (Ruth), Ronald Leon (Arlene), Glenn and Paul Hamilton (Mary); seven daughters, Helen Mattingly (John), Jean Fields (Earl), Joyce Smith (Joe), Pat Lee Osborne (Andrew), Sheila Brady (Ricky), Cathy Nally (Al) and Jackie Fenwick (Gery); two brothers, Pat and Leroy Vize; three sisters, Rheudell Mudd, Bernadette Abner and Margaret Ann McConnell; 46 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

      Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Frederickstown. Visitation: after noon Tuesday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

      Anna Lavenia Vize Hamilton, 88, died at 1:05 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. Born Dec. 29, 1919, Hamilton was a Washington County native and formerly of the Cissellville Community. She had worked at Sansbury Infirmary at St. Catharine and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.

      She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Irvin and Catherine Corrine Mattingly Vize; husband, Charles Allen Hamilton; two sons, Steve and Leroy Hamilton; one daughter, Naomi Hamilton; three grandchildren, David Mattingly, Michael Hamilton and Steven D. Mackin; stepmother, Aileen Carrico Vize; two brothers, Joe "Buck" Vize and Dub Vize; and one sister, Cattie Thompson.

      Survivors include: six sons, Kenny Hamilton, Gerald Hamilton and Paul Hamilton, all of Springfield, Fred Hamilton of Bardstown, Ronald Leon Hamilton of Gravel Switch and Glenn Hamilton of Loretto; seven daughters, Helen Mattingly of Lexington, Jean Fields, Joyce Smith and Jackie Fenwick, all of Springfield, Pat Lee Osborne and Sheila Brady, both of Bardstown, Cathy Nally of Loretto; two brothers, Pat Vize and Leroy Vize, both of Louisville; three sisters, Rheudell Mudd of Loretto, Bernadette Abner of Lost Creek and Margaret Ann McConnell of Louisville; 50 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Aug. 20 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield, with Rev. Stephen Dominic Hayes, O.P. and Rev. James Murray, O.P. officiating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fredericktown. Active pallbearers were Bruce Mattingly, Wanda Clark, Darell Smith, Jeff Osborne and Tony, Scott, Bradley and Keith Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers were Joshua and Carissa Hamilton, Daniel Lewis, April Shewmaker and Shannon Fenwick. Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, Springfield, was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fredericktown. Prayer services were conducted at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home who was in charge of arrangements.
