Ewing Elco Goff
Jackson, TN - A celebration for the life of Mr. Ewing Elco Goff will be conducted on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 1 PM from the South Chapel of the George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with Pastors Bill Luther and Jonathan Howell officiating. The committal service will follow at 3 PM at the Scotts Hill Pentecostal Temple Cemetery.
Mr. Goff, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 31, 2010. He was born in Scotts Hill, TN, and had lived in Jackson since 1951. He graduated from North Side High School and West Tennessee Business College. He retired with over 40 years of service to the Navy as manager of the film library at the Naval Air Training Center in Millington, TN. He received many letters of commendation for his outstanding service. Mr. Goff was compassionate, loved people, loved being outside and loved farming his entire life. He was a member of the Bemis Pentecostal Church and the Life Church of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewing L. and Jewell Eason Goff, and his brother, William Cleo Goff. He was deeply loved by his family and is survived by a brother, Jerry Eason (Carole) Goff of Smyrna, TN; two sisters, Kaye (Pat) Roberson of Helena, AR; and Linda (Bill) Farmer of Jackson, TN. He is also survived by seven nephews, their families, and many special friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be directed to the Life Church of Jackson, 780 Highway 18, Jackson, TN 38301; or to a favorite charity.
