    • James D. "Pops" Waller, age 76, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, March
      18, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

      Pops was owner and operator of Pizza Oven for the last 33 years. He was a
      graduate of Memorial High School in 1951 and was an avid sports enthusiast,
      supporting University of Evansville and all Memorial sports - Varsity and
      Reserve crews alike. He also was a member of the Memorial High School
      Athletic Booster Club and was a season ticket-holder for the Evansville
      Otters. Pops loved traveling and visiting the national parks, especially
      Yellowstone, and loved going to the East coast in the Fall to see the
      changing of the leaves, all in his "trusty" van.

      He is survived by daughters, Catherine Ann Fickas and Beth M. Waller, both of
      Evansville; sons, Dr. James Waller, Jr. (Krista); and Jose Lopez (Billie Jo),
      both of Evansville; grandchildren, Heather Hazen (Chris), Samantha VanVactor,
      Emily Thiel (Zachary), Joey Waller, Dustin Waller, Sarah Waller, Mariellen
      Waller and Michael Waller; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Cecilia Fredrich,
      of Little Rock, Ark.; and brothers, Fred Waller, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and
      Lynn Waller, of Cadiz, Ky.

      Pops was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Waller, in 1997; daughter,
      Nancy Bitter, in 2002; and son, Joseph L. Waller, in 2008.

      Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East
      Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.

      Funeral services will be on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor
      Chad Eckels officiating.

      Entombment will be in Park Lawn Mausoleum.
