Notes - Alfred al.gough@yahoo.com Gough wrote: Mike - Sent the DNA off yesterday. The family tree was prepared by my great aunt, Fanny Combs Gough. She was the second wife of Pike Gough a widower, they had no children. She is the one who wrote the sketch on her step son William Gough which appeared in the Tercentenary History of Maryland. She was big in the DAR and the Maryland Historical Society. I believe she may have had a tendancy to overstate issues of lineage. On a visit to San Francisco I was informed that Gough street was named after a Gough, who when the streets were being named, had gone before the city council and requested the name because it encompassed the area of his milk run. I found the story hilarious, Aunt Fanny would not have been amused. There are still a lot of wood piles in St. Mary's County. It will take some time to review and sort out the information you sent, it is very much appreciated. When I get the opportunity I will also discuss the matter with Linda Reno.
