The info I found concerns William and Sarah Mattingly (my great grandparents) and marriage dates for James and Mary Veronica Gough and Stephen and Mary Ann Gough. Nothing too exciting.

Ok guys....this is what I think I've found. I called up my grandmother's sister who is still living but has a bad memory and talked to her for a while about the Gough side of our family in Indiana. She said her father was not a "nice person" so she was trying to forget him. I guess you never know what kind of skeleton's you're going to dig up when you go digging too deep. She did manage to verify a few things for me which I verify I'm on the right trail.
>-The family came from Daviess County
>-They were all farmers and her grandfather's name was James Gough
>-She also remembered an aunt that was around the same age as her who's name was Virginia

>I also asked her if she remembers her grandfather being married twice. She said no, he was married three times and that the last wife had outlived him. She also said he had children by two of his wife's that he knew of.

>This pretty much points me to the James Gough who is the father of Harold Gough and lived in Barr Township in the 1890s-1930s. He has the daughter named Virginia and also I have records of the death of his first wife, Mary, in 1917. He apparently remarried in 1918 to a lady named Lena.
>Here are some notes I made on Stephen to link him to James. I'm sure you guys probably already have these but it can't hurt.

Pretty much that entire branch died in Indiana in Daviess County
There is only one James Francis which is listed in the Barr Township
Daviess County census for this year range who is even close to the correct age.
I have a copy of the land grant that shows the father of of Stephen T. Gough (Ignatius Gough) getting land in 1820
Also if you'd like any of the census files or anything I have mentioned in here I can gladly email you a copy.
I think I'm going to take a trip to Indiana to visit some of these cemeteries I might come back with pictures.
