Search America’s historic newspaper pages from 1777-1963 or use the U.S. Newspaper Directory to find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present. The collection contains more than 18 million pages.

Searching the website for “Goff” returns 134,000 results, including this article from Clarksburg, WV from October 1916 where Senator Nathan Goff was listed as a speaker at a Republican presidential campaign rally.
Likewise, a search for “Gough” yields 90,000 results including this featured story from the Omaha Guide from November 1932, “Who Killed Ernie Gough”, the only black detective in Leavenworth, KS.
